Tango Argentine – Marina Antonova
Watercolor on Paper
Artwork – 9 ½“w x 13“h
Overall – 16”w x 20“h
The Tango, often called 'The Argentine Tango', is Argentina's contribution to the world of dance. What most don’t know is that, at it’s very beginning, it was a ballet-like dance between two men. This beautiful original water color by Buenos Aires artist Marina Antonova is rare depiction of two male tango dancers. In fact, we can’t find any other works by this published painter with a male-male couple. Antonova signed and dated this work 2008, Buenos Aires. We think it is an interesting and charming addition to our gallery that captures the passion and history of the dance and is sure to spark conversation.
