Michael Roberson is a California based artist known for his abstract, impressionist, and street art style. He first began showing his work commercially in Los Angeles in 2004, ultimately selling to collectors across the country. This piece was painted by Roberson in 2011 and is signed on the front and back. Of interest, we found that this piece originally was signed in the bottom corner with only initials. Later, that monogram was covered up and re-signed with the artists first initial and full signature, which is how he signs his works today. Maybe that’s why Roberson called the piece Sign? Or could it be the mid-century modern Sign style graphics? An interesting enigma.
